Datum is a new firm. We are not going to pretend otherwise — our credibility comes from how we work, not from a résumé of invented milestones.

Christian Steiner built Datum around a simple observation: structural engineering is a discipline with its own codes, its own career paths, and its own way of thinking about fit. A generalist approach to hiring does not respect those differences.
The firm takes a research-driven approach: understanding the technical context of a role before looking for a person, and understanding a person's actual work before proposing a role. That is slower than matching keywords, and it is the point.
Datum aims to be the reference point for structural talent — a firm that firms trust to understand the work, and that engineers trust with a confidential conversation.
